Amritsar, Punjab. Akshay Kumar was born in Punjabi Family, his name is
Rajiv Hari Om Bhatiya. His father was a government employee. He grew up
in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. And later he went to Koliwada of Mumbai
He took his education from Don Bosco School. He took his college education from Guru Nanak College, where he participated in sports with Janpal Singh. He later went to Bangkok for the practice of martial arts and he also worked as a chef. Later he returned to Mumbai to start his own martial arts school. One of his students who was a photographer considered him a model, and used to take pictures of him. Akshay used to get Rs 5000 for pose in front of the camera for two hours. That is why he liked to be model. His first film was Deedar, which was directed by Pramod Chakravarti.
He married to Twinkle Khanna on 14 January 2001. Today, they have two kids, a boy and a girl named Arav and Nitara.
