Dilip Kumar
Dilip Kumar is an Indian film artist who is particularly called the "Trajedy King", and Satyajit Ray also gave him the status of "The Ultimate Method Actor".
In 1944, Bombay Talkies started his film career with the production 'Jwar Bhata'. His career lasted for nearly 6 decades and in his career he has done more than 60 films. He has worked in many types of films including romantic 'Andaz' (1949), adventurous 'Aan' (1952), dramatic 'Devdas' (1955), comical 'Azad' (1955), historical 'Mughal-e-Azam' (1960) and social 'Ganga Jamuna' (1961).
In 1976, Dilip Kumar took a break of five years from the film and after so many years he returned with his new role in his new film Kranti (1981) and after this he acted in Shakti (1982), Karma (1986) and Saudagar (1991). His last film was Kila (1998).
Dilip Kumar has won 9 Filmfare Awards and he is also the first artist to win the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1954. Even today, the record for winning the Filmfare Award is on his name. In his category, he has won the Filmfare 8 times. Critics also said, 'Dilip Kumar the greatest artist in the history of Hindi cinema'.
For his achievements, Government of India has honored him with Padma Bhushan in 1991, Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 and Padma Vibhushan in 2015 and also nominated him for the Rajya Sabha. The Pakistan Government also honored him with his country's highest award, Nishan-e-Imtiaz in 1997.
